       Prince Georges County   To wit
       On this 23.rd day of May in the year
       1844 personally appeared N P
       Cooksey before me a Justice
       of the Peace of said County and
       Made oath on the Holy Evangely
       of Almighty God that negro
       man John F Brookes the boy
       bequeathed to John W Eastwood by
       James Cooksey to serve until was
       twenty one years old and then
       to be free had now arrived
       at the age of twenty one years
       and is therefore entitled to his
       freedom under said will
