       Maryland Prince Georges County to wit 2 Sept.r 1837

       Before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace
       for said County appeared Rich.d M Waring and
       made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty
       God that Dorsey Brooks the bearer hereof was
       originally the property of Mr.s Elizabeth McDaniel
       and by her devised to Mr.s Martha Wheeler to
       leave for a term of ^years^ specified in said will
       which said term has expired and that he
       is entitled to a certificate of freedom
       reference being had to the said will will
       more fully appear  He is of a dark
       complexion   feet   inches high and
       is to his knowledge the identical person
       named in the said Will sworn to the
       best of his knowledge and belief
