       Maryland Prince Georges County To wit
                   On this 2.d day of June 1837 Came
       before me the subscriber a Justice of the
       Peace in and for the state and County
       aforesaid Philemon Jures and made
       Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty
       God that Basil Duckett a free man
       of Colour is a free negro and became
       Entitled to his freedom ^under the will^ of Ann Hall
       late of said County dec.d and is the
       reputed son of a Negro woman Nancy
       also a free woman under said will
                         Given under my hand this
                         day & year aforesaid
