       Washington County      fs
                   Personally appeared before me a Justice of
       the peace for the said County Ann Proctor a free
       white white woman of Lawful age & makes oath in
       due form that Polly Berry a bright molatto
       woman about forty years of age somewhat pitted
       with the small pox stout made and rather above
       the common size was free born as was the mother
       of the said Polly whom she also well knew
                   Witness my hand & this 24.th day of August
                   1819

                                     I William Brent Clerk of the Circuit
       Court of the District of Columbia for the County aforesaid
       hereby certify that Dan.l Rapine Gentleman before
       whom the above affidavit appears to have been
       made and whose name is thereto subscribed
       was at the time of so doing a Justice of the peace
       in and for the County aforesaid duly commissioned
       and sworn
                               In Testimony whereof I hereto
                               set my hand & affix the seal
                               of said Court this 24.th day of
