                 I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Joseph
       Warren a bright mulatto man about twenty one years
       of age five feet six three quarter Inches high has a scar
       on his right leg near the Knee a small scar near his
       right Eye occasioned by a Kick of a horse  That the said
       Joseph Warren is a free man and became Entitled to his
       freedom by Virtue of a Deed of Manumission from
       Samuel Sprigg to said Joseph Warren duly recorded
       in Liber                  No        pages               one of the
       Land Records of Prince Georges County   In Testimony &c
       Cert f.d                                                     granted Dec.r 9.th 1828
