                            I hereby certify that the bearer hereof
       Negro Hanson who Calls himself Hanson Gantt a
       dark Mulatto man about thirty six years five feet
       seven inches high having a Scar near his left eye which
       he Says was occasioned by a fall a scar on the left hand
       near the wrist occasioned by a cert and who has had
       his left leg broken is a free man and became
       entitled to his freedom by Virtue of a Deed of manumission
       from John Townshend ^bearing date the fourth day of Jany 1828 &^ duly Executed acknowledged and
       recorded in the office of the Clerk of Prince Georges County
       Court        In Testimony &c
