       Maryland Prince Georges County Sc.t

             I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Frances Bacon
          a Black woman about seventeen years of age five feet
       two and a quarter Inches high has a small scar over her
       left eye and two small scars on her left rist  That the
       said Frances Bacon is a free woman and was born free
       in the County aforesaid being the reputed Daughter
       of Mary Peal a free woman of Colour

       to his freedom in virtue of a Deed of manumission
       from Sam.l Sprigg to Said Mark Daffin
