       Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

                      I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Alexander
       Tarbin a bright Mulatto man about twenty two years
       of age five feet five Inches high has several scars
       on his right leg a little above the ancle a scar on the
       top of his Head occasioned by a cut a small scar
       on his right arm a little above the wrist  That the
       said Alexander Tarvin is a free man and was born free
       in the County aforesaid   Cert granted septm.r 24.th 1829

                   I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Mary Peal
       a black woman about thirty one years of age five feet three
       and a half Inches high has a large scar on her right shoulder
       occasioned by a scald also a small scar on her forehead little above
       the right eye and a small scar on the back of her right hand
       that the said Mary Peal is a free woman & was born free in the
       County aforesaid being the reputed daughter of Catherine Matthews
       a free woman of colour
