       Man by the name of Edward Younger about
       forty five years old five feet two inches high
       of dark complexion having a scar about two
       and a half inches long on the upper part of
       his left wrist who was raised in the family of
       the late Overton Carr of the county aforesaid
       is a Freeman and became such in virtue of a
       Deed of manumission from his late Master
       bearing date the Ninth day of April seventeen
       Hundred and Ninety five and duly
       executed and recorded in one of the Land
       records of said county on the same day

                Given under my hand and seal of office
                this Eighth day of September Eighteen
                Hundred and Nine

       Maryland Prince Georges County to wit

                I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a
       dark mulatto woman by the name of Catharine
       Gray about thirty one years old five feet one
       inch and one half inch high with two of her upper
       teeth out and a scar on the right cheek
       which appears to have been burnt is a free
       woman being the daughter of a certain Cate Gray
       of the county aforesaid a free woman of colour

               Given under my hand and seal of office this
               twenty first day of September in the year one  
               thousand eight hundred & Nine
