The second sentence of former Art. 15A, § 28(g), which
stated that provisions not conforming with federal
requirements are inoperative, is deleted as surplusage
in light of subsection (h) of this section.

The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code notes, for
consideration of the General Assembly, that subsection
(e) of this section requires only a review by, and not
the approval of, the Legislative Auditor.

8-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING' WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language used as the
standard introductory language to a definition
section.

(B)  BOARD.

"BOARD" MEANS THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
avoid repetition of the full title "Board of Public
Works".

(C)  ENABLING ACT.

"ENABLING ACT" MEANS A LAW THAT AUTHORIZES THE CREATION OF A
GENERAL OBLIGATION DEBT OF THE STATE AND THE SALE OF STATE BONDS
TO EVIDENCE THAT DEBT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
allow concise reference to the law that authorizes a
specific issue of State bonds.

Defined term: "State bond" § 8-101

(D)  STATE BOND.

"STATE BOND" MEANS A GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND OF THE STATE.
