5-603. PREPARATION AND REVISION.

IN THE PREPARATION AND REVISION OF THE PLAN OR ANY PART OF
IT, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL:

(1)  SEEK COMMENTS FROM AND CONSULT WITH THE LOCAL
GOVERNMENTS OF THE AREAS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THE PLAN; AND

(2)  SEEK THE COOPERATION AND ADVICE OF:

(I)  APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENTAL UNITS;

(II)  REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSIONS;

(III)  PUBLIC OR PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL
INSTITUTIONS;

(IV)  PUBLIC OR PRIVATE RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS;

(V)  CIVIC GROUPS; AND

(VI)  INTERESTED PERSONS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third sentence of
former Art. 88C, § 2(b).

In the introductory language of this section, the
language "preparation and revision of the Plan or any
part of it" is substituted for the former language
"preparing the State development plan or any part
thereof, and in preparing, from time to time,
revisions, amendments, extensions, or additions", for
brevity and clarity.

In item (2)(i) of this section, the words
"governmental units". are substituted for the former
words "departments, agencies and instrumentalities of
federal, State and local government", for brevity and
clarity.

In item (2)(ii) of this section, the former word
"metropolitan" is deleted as included in the word
"regional".

In item (2)(iv) of this section, the words "interested
persons" are substituted for the former words "private
persons and interested organizations", for brevity.
