(6) INTERESTED PERSONS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a), (b)(1), and (b)(3) through
(6) of this section are new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 88C, § 2(a) and
(d).

Subsection (b)(2) of this section is new language
added for consistency with § 5-603 of this title.

In the introductory language of subsection (a) of this
section, the word "study" is substituted for the
former reference to making "studies and
investigations", for brevity.

In the introductory language of subsection (b) of this
section, the former word "collaboration" is deleted as
included in the word "cooperation".

In subsection (b)(1) of this section, the words
"governmental units" are substituted for the former
words "departments, agencies and instrumentalities of
federal, State and local government", for brevity and
clarity.

In subsection (b)(6) of this section, the words

"interested persons" are substituted for the former

language "private persons and organizations", for

consistency with § 5-603 of this title.

5-507. DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL PROVIDE INFORMATION TO STATE AND LOCAL
OFFICIALS AND TO THE PUBLIC TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST AND
PARTICIPATION IN THE ORDERLY, INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE
AND TO FOSTER PUBLIC AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF:

(1)  THE OBJECTIVES OF THE STATE DEVELOPMENT PLAN; AND

(2)  THE FUNCTION OF STATE, REGIONAL, AND LOCAL
PLANNING.
