AND ASSISTANCE IN PLANNING.

5-401. DEPARTMENT TO ADVISE GOVERNOR.

(A)  COORDINATION OF STATE PLANS AND PROGRAMS.

TO ESTABLISH RELATIVE PRIORITIES AND AVOID DUPLICATION AND
CONFLICTS, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ADVISE THE GOVERNOR ON THE MEANS
AND METHODS AVAILABLE TO COORDINATE THE PLANS AND PROGRAMS OF ALL
UNITS OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT.

(B)  COORDINATION OF FEDERAL, STATE, REGIONAL, AND LOCAL
PLANS AND PROGRAMS.

TO AVOID DUPLICATION AND CONFLICTS, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
ADVISE THE GOVERNOR ON THE MEANS AND METHODS AVAILABLE TO
COORDINATE THE PLANS AND PROGRAMS OF FEDERAL, STATE, REGIONAL,
AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 88C, §
2(a), (n), and (o).

In subsection (a) of this section and throughout this
subtitle, the reference to "units of the State
government" is substituted for former language such as
"State departments, agencies, commissions and
instrumentalities", for brevity and to conform to
similar provisions elsewhere in this article.

In subsection (b) of this section and throughout this
subtitle, the former word "metropolitan" is deleted as
included in the word "regional".

Also in subsection (b) of this section and throughout
this subtitle, the former words "county" and
"municipal" are deleted as included in the word
"local".
