The General Assembly may wish to consider expanding
the scope of this section to apply to other public
improvements designated by the Board of Public Works.
Compare § 4-601 of this subtitle and this section.

The General Assembly may also wish to consider
including the Chief of Police of a municipal
corporation in which a multiservice center is located
within the scope of this section.

4-607. REGULATIONS.

(A) POWER TO ADOPT.

THE SECRETARY MAY ADOPT REGULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION,
MAINTENANCE, AND SECURITY OF IMPROVEMENTS, GROUNDS, AND
MULTISERVICE CENTERS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE DEPARTMENT.

(B) POSTING.

ANY REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL BE
CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED.

(C) PENALTIES.

A PERSON WHO VIOLATES A REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER THIS
SECTION IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT
TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $20 PLUS COSTS.. A PERSON WHO FAILS TO
PAY ANY FINE OR COSTS IMPOSED UNDER THIS SECTION MAY BE
IMPRISONED IN JAIL FOR A PERIOD NOT EXCEEDING 30 DAYS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 41, § 134.

In subsection (c) of this section, the former minimum
penalty is deleted to conform to the statement of
legislative policy contained in Art. 27, § 643, which
sets forth the general rule that, notwithstanding a
prescribed minimum penalty, the court nevertheless may
impose a lesser penalty of the same character.

As to the deletion of the references to "rules", see
the General Revisor's Note to this article.

4-608.- APPROPRIATION FOR SERVICES PROVIDED BY CITY OF ANNAPOLIS.

ANNUALLY, THE STATE SHALL APPROPRIATE AND PAY TO THE MAYOR
AND ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS THE SUM PROVIDED IN THE
STATE BUDGET AS PAYMENT FOR:
