CHAPTER 4

(Senate Bill 809)

AN ACT concerning

State Council on Vocational-Technical Education

FOR the purpose of creating the State Council on
Vocational-Technical Education; providing for Council
composition, the filling of vacancies, reimbursement, and
terms of members; providing for the election of officers and
meetings; providing for the powers and duties of the
Council; requiring certain reports; deleting obsolete
provisions and making conforming changes; making this Act an
emergency measure; and generally relating to the
establishment of the State Council on Vocational-Technical
Education.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Education

Section 21-101, 21-102, 21-103, 21-104, 21-105, and 21-106

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

21-101.

There is a State [Advisory] Council on Vocational-Technical
Education.

21-102.

(a)  The State [Advisory] Council consists of [30] 13
members appointed by the Governor. [Council membership shall be
reduced to 25 members by July 1, 1980 by reducing the number of
regularly scheduled Council appointments by two on July 1, 1978
and 1979, and by one on July 1, 1980.]

(b)  The members [may] SHALL include:

[(1) Representatives of and individuals familiar
with:

(i) The vocational needs and problems of
management in this State;

(ii) The vocational needs and problems of
organized labor in this State;
