LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 11

EACH UNIT IN THE DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT TO THE SECRETARY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from
former Art. 41, § 231B.

Subsection (b) of this section formerly appeared as
Art. 41, § 231C(e).

In subsection (a) of this section, the former
reference to "the duties and functions previously
performed and exercised by the Department of Public
Improvements" is deleted as unnecessary in light of
former Art. 41, § 231D.

Also in subsection (a) of this section, the former
references to the "office of the Superintendent of
Annapolis Public Buildings and Grounds" and the
"office of the Superintendent of Baltimore Public
Buildings and Grounds" are deleted as obsolete.

In the introductory language of subsection (a) of this
section, the word "units" is substituted for the
former phrase "functions, boards, commissions,
bureaus, offices and agencies", for brevity and to
conform with similar provisions elsewhere in this
title.

In subsection (a)(5) of this section, the phrase
"under any other law" is substituted for the former
words "as may hereafter pursuant to law be declared",
for brevity and clarity.

In subsection (b) of this section, the phrase "each
unit in the Department" is substituted for the former
phrase "all divisions, commissions, boards, and other
agencies of the Department", for brevity and to
conform to similar provisions elsewhere in this title.

The only other changes are in style.

Defined terms: "Department" § 4-101
"Secretary" § 4-101

4-207. FUNCTIONS ASSIGNED TO DEPARTMENT.

IN ADDITION TO ITS OTHER FUNCTIONS, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
PERFORM ANY FUNCTION REQUESTED OF IT OR DELEGATED TO IT BY THE
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 78A, §
22(14) and the introductory language of § 22, and,
except the final clause, § 17.
