Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to the Bistate Agreement on the
Chesapeake Bay; providing for the duration of this amended
agreement; and providing for a Chesapeake Bay Commission
Agreement among the State of Maryland, the Commonwealth of
Virginia, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 8-302

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1984 Supplement)

Preamble

WHEREAS, The Chesapeake Bay Commission was formed in 1980 to
assist the legislatures of Maryland and Virginia to evaluate and
respond to problems of Bay-wide concern; and

WHEREAS, Studies completed by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, the U.S. Corps of Engineers, and others have
emphasized the importance of the drainage system of the lower
Susquehanna River to the health and welfare of the Chesapeake
Bay; and

WHEREAS, The need for effective cooperation and coordination
of Bay management among the states of Virginia, Maryland, and
Pennsylvania has been stressed by participants in the 1983
Chesapeake Bay Conference; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Chesapeake Bay Commission AGREEMENT
Article I

Membership and Organization

[1.] SECTION 101. Commission created. --

The Chesapeake Bay Commission, hereinafter designated as
"Commission", is hereby created.

[2.] SECTION 102. Members.--

The Commission shall consist of [fourteen] 21 members,
[seven] 7 from Virginia, [and seven] 7 from Maryland, AND 7 FROM
