SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
754A.
(A) IN THIS SECTION "APPOINTING AUTHORITY" MEANS ANY
DEPARTMENT, AGENCY, OR OFFICE OF HOWARD COUNTY THAT IS AUTHORIZED
TO HIRE PERMANENT, TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME, OR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES.
(B) AN APPOINTING AUTHORITY (A) THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR
OF HOWARD COUNTY MAY REQUEST THE CRIMINAL RECORDS CENTRAL
REPOSITORY OF THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE TO INVESTIGATE ANY
PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEE OF HOWARD COUNTY THROUGH THE APPROPRIATE
FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD INFORMATION
SYSTEM.
(C) AN APPOINTING AUTHORITY THAT MAKES A REQUEST UNDER (B)
THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION SHALL PAY
THE FEE IMPOSED TO OBTAIN FEDERAL CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD
INFORMATION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.

Local Government - Express Powers of Home Rule Counties
Howard Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery Counties - Public
Transportation Services

FOR the purpose of adding to the express powers of home rule
counties by permitting the levy and collection of taxes for
the organization, operation, and maintenance of public
transportation.
