LAW AND EQUITY THAT THE ORIGINALS HAD. HOWEVER, ALL THESE DEEDS,
MORTGAGES, WILLS, PAPERS AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS OF WRITING WHICH
MAY BE RE-RECORDED, WHERE RECORDING WAS MADE NECESSARY BY LAW,
SHALL BE RE-RECORDED IN CONFORMITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAWS
OF THIS STATE RELATING TO CONVEYANCING AND RECORDING, AND SHALL
BE SUBJECT TO THE CONDITIONS AND REGULATIONS, JUST THE SAME AS
NEW DEEDS, MORTGAGES, WILLS AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS OF WRITING ARE
SUBJECT. THE EXISTENCE AND RECORDING OF ANY DEED, MORTGAGE,
WILL, OR OTHER INSTRUMENT OF WRITING DESTROYED BY FIRE OR LOST
MAY BE PROVEN BY PAROL OR OTHERWISE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES
OF EVIDENCE, AND WHEN SO PROVEN SHALL HAVE THE SAME FORCE AND
EFFECT AS THE ORIGINAL WOULD HAVE HAD.

SUBTITLE 3. DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING.

17-301. DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING.

(A)  THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING
SHALL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY OFFICE SPACE AND CLERICAL HELP IN
ORDER TO OPERATE A FULL-TIME OFFICE OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF
EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING. THIS OFFICE SHALL BE LOCATED IN PRINCE
FREDERICK.

(B)  ALL PERSONS EMPLOYED BY CALVERT COUNTY WHO HAVE
SATISFACTORILY PERFORMED CONTINUOUS FULL-TIME CLERICAL SUPPORT
WORK FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OFFICE FOR AT
LEAST 18 MONTHS SHALL BE TRANSFERRED, WITHOUT FURTHER EXAMINATION
OR QUALIFICATION, TO THE STATE CLASSIFIED SERVICE.

(C)  ANY EMPLOYEE TRANSFERRED TO THE STATE CLASSIFIED
SERVICE UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL:

(1)  BE GIVEN CREDIT FOR ALL YEARS OF SERVICE RENDERED
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OFFICE IN CALVERT
COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING (I) THE BASIC RATES FOR
EARNING ANNUAL LEAVE; AND (II) SENIORITY RIGHTS, PURSUANT TO § 35
OF ARTICLE 64A OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND, ON THE SAME
BASIS AS REGULAR EMPLOYEES;

(2)  UPON INCLUSION, PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE PENSION
SYSTEM TO THE SAME EXTENT AS REGULAR EMPLOYEES; AND

(3)  RECEIVE NO DIMINUTION IN COMPENSATION SOLELY AS A
RESULT OF THIS TRANSFER.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That nothing in this
Act affects the term of office of an appointed member of any
department, board, commission, committee, agency or other unit.
A person who is a member of such a unit on the effective date of
this Act shall remain a member for the balance of the term to
which the member was appointed, unless the member sooner dies,
resigns, or is removed pursuant to the provisions of law.
