SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1 October 1, 1985.

AN ACT concerning

Prizes - Contests, Sweepstakes, and Sales
Promotions - Disclosure

FOR the purpose of requiring certain persons who offer contests,
sweepstakes or sales promotions to disclose certain
information regarding the number and price of prizes,
conditions for winning a prize,; conditions for winning a
prize, and related information; providing for certain
exemptions; providing for limited applicability of this Act
where other law is more stringent; altering, under certain
circumstances, the prohibitions against a person notifying
another person that the person has won a prize, received an
award, or has been selected or is eligible to receive
anything of value; and generally relating to disclosure in
connection with contests, sweepstakes, and sales promotion
efforts.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(a) [The] THIS section does not apply to:

(1)  Trading stamps, as defined by § 239(a) of Article
56 of the Code; [or]

(2)  State lottery tickets issued under the authority
of Title 9, Subtitle 1 of the State Government Article; OR
