Anne Arundel County - Bingo

FOR the purpose of providing that in Anne Arundel County, "bingo"
includes the game of instant bingo.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

Section 247

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

247.

(a) Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to make it
unlawful for any bona fide fraternal, religious, or charitable
organizations or corporations, or volunteer fire company
operating in communities which have no paid fire department, to
conduct or operate a game of bingo for the benefit of charity in
Anne Arundel, Queen Anne's, Somerset, or Kent counties, or in
furtherance of the purposes of such organizations, corporations
or volunteer fire department, and in Kent and Somerset counties,
any bona fide war veterans' organization shall also be included
in the provisions of this section.

(b)  This article may not be construed to prohibit the game
of bingo on Sunday in Kent County.

(C) IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, "BINGO" INCLUDES THE GAME OF
INSTANT BINGO.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
