Article - Transportation

15-302.

A person may not conduct the business of a dealer unless the
person is licensed by the Administration under this subtitle.

15-402.

A person may not act as a vehicle salesman unless the person
is licensed by the Administration under this subtitle.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
27-101(j) of Article - Transportation of the Annotated Code of
Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 27-101(k).

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article - Transportation

27-101.

(J) ANY PERSON WHO IS CONVICTED OF A VIOLATION OF ANY OF
THE PROVISIONS OF § 15-302 OF THIS ARTICLE ("DEALER'S LICENSE
REQUIRED") OR § 15-402 OF THIS ARTICLE ("VEHICLE SALESMAN'S
LICENSE REQUIRED") IS SUBJECT TO:

(1)  FOR A FIRST OFFENSE, A FINE OF NOT MORE THAN
$1,000 OR IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT MORE THAN 6 MONTHS OR BOTH; AND

(2)  FOR ANY SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE, A FINE OF NOT MORE
THAN $2,000 OR IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT MORE THAN 1 YEAR OR BOTH.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
