AN ACT concerning
Private Detectives - Qualifications
FOR the purpose of altering the definition of an organized police
department to include the Sparrows Point Police Department
certain police departments certified to meet the standards
prescribed by the Maryland Police Training Commission under
certain circumstances so as to provide that a member of the
Sparrows Point Police Department certain police departments
may qualify providing additional alternative qualifications
for a private detective's license.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 56 - Licenses

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
78.
(b) No license shall be issued to a person under the age of
twenty-five years, nor to any person, firm, association or
corporation unless:
(1) Such person or at least one member of the firm,
and one officer or director of the association or corporation has
had at least (a) five years' experience as a full-time licensed
investigator; or (b) 5 full years' experience as a full-time
police officer with an organized police department; or (c) three
full years' experience in an investigative capacity as a
detective while serving as a police officer with an organized
police department . ; OR (D) 3 FULL YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN AN
INVESTIGATIVE CAPACITY IN A PRIVATE OR PUBLIC AGENCY IN OR OF THE
UNITED STATES, THE STATE, OR A COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITY OF THE
STATE FOR THE PURPOSE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND HAS COMPLETED THE
TRAINING PRESCRIBED BY THE MARYLAND POLICE TRAINING COMMISSION
FOR A POLICE OFFICER; OR (E) 5 FULL YEARS' EXPERIENCE EMPLOYED AS
A FULL-TIME FIRE INVESTIGATOR FOR A FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY IN OR OF THE STATE OR A COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITY
OF THE STATE AND HAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE TRAINING
