(F) (1) A SPECIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER AS SPECIFIED BY THE
ADMINISTRATION AND ASSIGNED UNDER THIS SECTION MAY CONSIST OF:
(I) ANY COMBINATION OF LETTERS, NUMERALS, OR
BOTH; AND
(II) THE NAME, INITIALS, OR ABBREVIATION OF THE
NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION.
(2) A SPECIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER ASSIGNED UNDER THIS
SECTION SHALL BE DISPLAYED ON THE REGISTRATION PLATES FOR THE
VEHICLE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
13-410(f), 13-614, 13-615, 13-617, 13-618, and 13-949 of Article
- Transportation of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
be construed to be construed to apply to the issuance of a
registration plates plates or a special registration plate plates
when the current multiyear registration plates expire, and the
Motor Vehicle Administration is not required to reclaim or
reissue registration plates until the regular expiration of
current plates.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Motor
Vehicle Administration shall work with the Senate Judicial
Proceedings Committee and the House of Delegates Economic Matters
Committee during the 1985 interim in drafting the rules and
regulations for Section 13-619 of the Transportation Article as
enacted by this Act concerning special registration for
organizations. These Committees shall review the proposed rules
and regulations and may conduct hearings on them.
SECTION 4 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect January 1, 1986.
