181-1.
(A) WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, THE TRUSTEES SHALL
APPOINT A DIRECTOR, WHO IS CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER OF THE
TRUST.
(B) THE DIRECTOR SHALL:
(1) BE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN ARCHITECTURE, HISTORY,
ARCHEOLOGY, OR OTHER APPROPRIATE DISCIPLINE RELATING TO HISTORIC
PRESERVATION; AND
(2) POSSESS EXPERIENCE IN HISTORIC PRESERVATION
ACTIVITIES OR RELATED FIELDS.
(C) THE DIRECTOR SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE
TRUSTEES AND MAY BE REMOVED WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE GOVERNOR.
(D) THE DIRECTOR IS ENTITLED TO THE SALARY PROVIDED IN THE
STATE BUDGET AND MAY EMPLOY STAFF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE
BUDGET.
(E) POSITIONS WITH THE TRUST ARE UNCLASSIFIED.
(F) UNDER DIRECTION OF THE TRUSTEES, THE DIRECTOR SHALL
PERFORM THE DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS PRESCRIBED BY THE TRUSTEES.

The trustees may request, and upon request shall receive
from the Attorney General of the State of Maryland, all legal
counsel and services necessary to carry out the purpose of the
Trust.

The Trust is authorized to receive from time to time gifts,
grants, devises, and bequests of money or property to be
administered for any of the purposes of this subtitle from any
federal or other governmental agency, public or private
corporation or association, or individual and the State of
Maryland is authorized to pay over and transfer to the Trust from
time to time, moneys or property to carry out the purpose of the
Trust, provided that property transferred by the State to the
Trust or purchased with funds paid by the State to the Trust and
designated for such purchase may not be absolutely disposed of by
the Trust without the approval of the Board of Public Works of
the State of Maryland.]

(A) THE TRUST MAY NOT DISPOSE OF ANY PROPERTY TRANSFERRED
BY THE STATE TO THE TRUST OR PURCHASED WITH FUNDS PAID BY THE
STATE WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.
