CHAPTER 474

(House Bill 1656)

AN ACT concerning

Statewide Master Electrical License - Insurance Requirements

FOR the purpose of altering the required amounts of insurance for
a person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business of
electrical contracting with a statewide master electrical
license.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 56 - Licenses

Section 535

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1984 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

535.

(a)  Within 60 days of the issuance of a statewide license,
the applicant shall hold a license in the jurisdiction of this
State in which the applicant resides or the jurisdiction of this
State in which the applicant's principal business office is
located.

(b)  Upon receipt of an application and payment of a fee,
the Board shall issue an initial license, subject to renewal
every 2 years, to all duly qualified applicants who comply with
the provisions of this subtitle.

(c)  A licensee may assign his license to the person, firm,
or corporation by whom he is principally employed, but a licensee
may only represent 1 person, firm, or corporation. The authority
granted by a license to the licensee may not be transferable to
another person. Any change in representation shall be made by
formal application, approval by the Board, and payment of an
additional fee.

(d)  A person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business
of electrical contracting under this subtitle may not undertake
