Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ____ (S.B. 1) of the Acts of the

General Assembly of 1985)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

19.

(b) (3) Marshland shall be assessed VALUED at a rate that
is equal to [the applicable] 50 PERCENT OF THE LOWEST rate for
land HIGHEST RATE FOR CLASS E LAND that is actively dedicated to
agricultural use.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article - Tax - Property

8-210.

Marshland shall be assessed VALUED at a rate equivalent to
[the] 50% OF THE LOWEST rate that is used to assess land HIGHEST
RATE THAT IS USED TO VALUE CLASS E LAND under § 8-209 of this
subtitle.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 1 of
this Act shall take effect July 1, 1985 and shall remain
effective until February 1, 1986. On February 1, 1986, and with
no further action required by the General Assembly, Section 1 of
this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.
Section 2 of this Act shall take effect February 1, 1986.
