SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Transportation

13-402.

(c) Registration under this subtitle is not required for:

(11) A VEHICLE OWNED BY AN ACCREDITED CONSULAR OR
DIPLOMATIC OFFICER OF A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT AND OPERATED FOR
OFFICIAL OR PERSONAL PURPOSES WHEN THE VEHICLE DISPLAYS A VALID
DIPLOMATIC LICENSE PLATE ISSUED BY THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.

13-810.

(a) On issuance in this State of an original or subsequent
certificate of title for a vehicle, the vehicle is exempt from
the excise tax imposed by this part, if it is:

[(12) A vehicle owned by a foreign consular officer
who is a national of the foreign country appointing him and who
is not engaged in any business, trade, or profession in the
United States, if a treaty between the United States and that
foreign country grants reciprocal exemption from these taxes;]

13-903.

(a) The following vehicles are exempt from the registration
fees specified in this subtitle:
