AN ACT concerning

Motor Vehicles - Warranties - Miles of Vehicle Operation

FOR the purpose of providing that if a motor vehicle manufacturer
chooses to include those miles of operation when a new motor
vehicle is in the possession of a person other than the
consumer within the warranty period, the manufacturer is
required to state that fact in a certain type face in the
manufacturer's written warranty; and providing a certain
effective date.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Commercial Law

14-1501.

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the
meanings indicated.

(2)  "Consumer" means:

(i) The purchaser, other than for purposes of
resale, of a motor vehicle subject to a manufacturer's express
warranty;

(ii) Any person to whom a motor vehicle subject
to a manufacturer's express warranty is transferred during the
duration of the express warranty applicable to such motor
vehicle; or

(iii) Any other person who is entitled by the
terms of a motor vehicle manufacturer's express warranty to
enforce the obligations of the warranty.

(3)  (i) "Motor vehicle" means a vehicle that is
registered in this State as a:

1. Class A (passenger) vehicle;
