DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The Department of Transportation shall
not expend funds of any job or
position of employment approved in
this budget in excess of 9,348
9,360 9,335 positions of the total
authorized amount established in
the budget for the Department of
Transportation at any one time
during fiscal year 1986 and that
the Secretary of Transportation
utilize his prerogatives under the
Transportation Article, Sections
2-101 and 2-102, to implement this
provision, provided, however, that
any authorized job or position to
be filled above the 9,348 9,360
9,335 ceiling is approved by the
Board of Public Works and shall
count against the Rule of 50
imposed by the General Assembly.
The establishment of new jobs or

positions of employment not

authorized in the fiscal year 1986
budget shall be subject to Article
78A, Section 16B(a) and the Rule of
50. Excess funds generated as a
result of this ceiling shall be
used to offset the need for the

issuance of an amount of

Consolidated Transportation Bonds
during the fiscal year.
