take effect July 1, 1985.

AN ACT concerning

Carroll County - County Commissioners - Salaries

FOR the purpose of altering the salaries of the County
Commissioners of Carroll County; and providing that this Act
does not affect the incumbents.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 3-1

Article 7 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1976 Edition and 1984 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 7 - Carroll County

3-1.

There shall be three (3) County Commissioners for Carroll
County who shall each receive a salary of [$18,500.00] $22,000 a
year. Also, each Commissioner shall receive an allowance for
expenses incident to the official discharge of his duties as
provided in the Annual County Budget. The three Commissioners
shall hold at least two regularly scheduled meetings each week
and shall schedule such additional meetings as they deem
necessary to properly conduct the business of Carroll County.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salaries or
compensation of the Carroll County County Commissioners in office
on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salaries or compensation of the Carroll County
County Commissioners shall take effect at the beginning of the
next following term of office.
