1150                                           LAWS OF MARYLAND                                     Ch. 43

(a) A soil conservation district constitutes a political
subdivision of the State, and a public body corporate and
politic, exercising public powers. The supervisors may:

(16) Borrow money on its negotiable paper to carry
out its powers and duties[, if prior approval of the committee is
obtained];

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

[(c) If such objections against the granting of any such
license in any of the counties are filed with the clerk of the
circuit court for the county in which the business is to be
