HARRY HUGHES, Governor

1033

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 95, § 11.

In subsection (a) of this section, the defined term
"State bond" and the reference to a "coupon" from a
State bond are substituted for the former reference to
"new evidences of debt or coupons or (sic) interest",
for clarity and consistency.

In subsection (b)(1) of this section, the former
phrase "alleged to be" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the requirement in subsection (a) that the
loss be proven before any duplicate is issued.

The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code notes, for
consideration by the General Assembly, that, in this
section, the scope of the word "lost" is unclear.

Defined term: "State bond" § 8-101

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE:

Former Art. 31, § 1, which related to the payment of the
principal of and interest on the public debt created before 1851,
is deleted as obsolete.

SUBTITLE 2. DEBTS OF STATE UNITS.

INDICATED, UNLESS THE CONTEXT CLEARLY REQUIRES OTHERWISE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language that
repeats the provisions of present Art. 31, § 29(a)(1),
§ 30(a)(1), and the introductory language of § 9.

(B)  BOND.

(1)  "BOND" MEANS AN OBLIGATION FOR THE PAYMENT OF
