(7) [The credit for registration fees payable for
Class A (passenger) vehicles as provided in § 13-939 of this
article, when applicable, shall be made on a prorated basis
corresponding to the number of months in the registration period.

(8)] Whenever a prorated fee is assessed, the amount
shall be calculated by multiplying one-twelfth of the applicable
fee by the number of months for which the issuance or renewal is
made and the resultant figure shall be adjusted to the nearest
dollar amount.

If a Class E (truck) vehicle is operated in combination
with:

(1)  A nonfreight trailer or semitrailer under §
13-927(b)(l) of this subtitle, the Class E (truck) vehicle shall
be registered for only the gross vehicle weight of the Class E
(truck) vehicle and not the gross combination weight of the Class
E (truck) vehicle AND nonfreight trailer or semitrailer; or

(2)  A freight trailer or semitrailer, under §
13-927(c)(l) of this subtitle, the Class E (truck) vehicle shall
be registered for the gross combination weight, which includes
the gross weight of the Class E (truck) vehicle, and the freight
trailer or semitrailer with which it is in combination.

(b)  Except as otherwise provided in subsection (c) OF THIS
SECTION, for each Class F (tractor) vehicle, the annual
registration fee is based on the maximum gross weight of the
vehicle in combination with a trailer or semitrailer, as follows:
