(House Bill 224)

AN ACT concerning

Lobsters - Management

FOR the purpose of repealing a prohibition pertaining to the
possession, sale, offering for sale, or transportation of
certain lobsters and instead providing that the Department
of Natural Resources may, by regulation, manage the lobster
resource subject to certain notice and public hearing
requirements.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

[4-901.

A person may not possess, sell, offer to sell, or transport
any egg bearing or scraped lobster or any lobster measuring less
than three and three-sixteenths inches from the rear end of the
eye socket along a line parallel to the center line of the body
shell (carapace) to the rear of the body shell (carapace).]

(A) THE DEPARTMENT MAY ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS TO:
