SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 48A - Insurance Code

30.

(1) The Commissioner shall examine the affairs,
transactions, accounts, records, and assets of each authorized
insurer, management company or owned or controlled subsidiary of
such insurer, and each rating organization, as often as he deems
advisable. He shall so examine each domestic insurer not less
frequently than every [four (4) years in the case of life
insurers, and three (3) years in the case of other than life
insurers] 5 YEARS. Examination of an alien insurer may be
limited to its insurance transactions and affairs in the United
States. Examination of a reciprocal insurer may also include
examination of its attorney in fact insofar as the transactions
of the attorney in fact relate to the insurer.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
