MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

RESOLUTION OF ANNEXATION

WHEREAS, Harold G. Trumpower and Audrey G. Trumpower, his
wife, have presented a Petition for Annexation, as well as an
Amended Petition for Annexation, to the Mayor and Council of the
City of Taneytown, Carroll County, State of Maryland, to enlarge
the corporate boundaries of said City by the annexation of a
certain hereinafter described parcel of land contiguous to and
adjoining the existing corporate boundaries of said City; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council, pursuant to Article 23A,
subsection 19(c) of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957), have
caused to be made a verification of the signatures upon said
Petition and ascertained that the persons signing the Petition
represent the owners of at least twenty-five per cent (25%) of
the assessed valuation of the real property located in the area
to be annexed; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have ascertained that there
are no persons residing in the area sought to be annexed.

ANNEXATION OF PROPERTY

ON TREVANION ROAD

WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority of Section 3 (Home Rule)
of Article XI-E -(Municipal Corporations) of the Constitution of
Maryland and of Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1973) Repl. Vol., as amended), title "Corporations -
Municipal", sub-title "Annexation", the City of Taneytown is
vested with the authority to enlarge the boundaries of the City;
and

WHEREAS, the area to be annexed is bounded on all sides by
real property presently within the corporate limits of the City
and the entire area is to be included in this annexation and the
size of the area does not exceed 1.5 percent of the present area
of the City and the number of residents in the area does not
exceed 1 percent of the population of the City.
