A RESOLUTION TO REPEAL AND REENACT WITH AMENDMENTS SEC.
1.9(f) OF THE CHARTER OF TAKOMA PARK, MARYLAND TO CHANGE THE
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TAX LEVY ON REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY.
[Section 1.9(f) of the Charter of the City of Takoma Park,
Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, as found in the
compilation of Municipal Charters of Maryland (1983 Edition),
repealed and reenacted, with amendments.
Effective Date May 29, 1984]

BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TANEYTOWN
TO
ENLARGE THE CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY
BY
ANNEXATION OF A PARCEL OF LAND ADJACENT TO ALLENDALE LAND AND THE
PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD (FORMERLY)
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority of Section 3 (Home Rule)
of Article XI-E (Municipal Corporations) of the Constitution of:
Maryland and of Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1973 Repl. Vol., as amended), title
"Corporations-Municipal", sub-title "Annexation", the Mayor and
Council of the City of Taneytown are vested with the authority to
enlarge the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Taneytown have
obtained the consent for the proposed annexation from more than
twenty-five percentum (25%) of the persons who reside in the area
to be annexed and who are registered voters in the County
elections in the precinct in which the territory to be annexed is
located and the owners of at least twenty-five percentum (25%) of
the assessed valuation of the real property located in the area
to be annexed.
