Effective Date June 15, 1983]

Under the provisions of Article 23A Section 13 and by motion

of Mr.______________, seconded by Mr. ______________, it was

unanimously resolved that the Charter of the Town be amended by
the addition of a new section to be titled and read as follows:

[Section 19-78A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Queen
Anne's County, as found in the compilation of Municipal Charters
of Maryland (1983 Edition), added.

RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF RIDGELY

TO AMEND SECTION 445 OF THE PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS

OF CAROLINE COUNTY

(THE CHARTER OF RIDGELY)

The Commissioners of Ridgely have reviewed the current
condition of the water system of the Town with experts in the
field. Such review determined that:

1.   The water system is antiquated and in some areas,
creating a deleterious effect on the health and safety of the
inhabitants of the Town.

2.   The maximum borrowing authority of $150,000.00 as set
out in Section 445 of the Charter is insufficient to provide the
Commissioners of Ridgely with the means of financing certain
improvements which are projected for such water system for the
near future.

3.   An amendment to Section 445 increasing the power of the
Commissioners to borrow on the faith and credit of the Town from
$150,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 will be adequate to allow the Town
to undertake the projected improvements.

Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed and reenacted, with amendments.
