CHARTER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION

NO. 1982 - 2

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING:

The Charter of the Town of Hampstead

FOR THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING Section 6-27 of said Charter as
the same appears in the Everstine Code of Public Local Laws of
Carroll County (1976) to authorize expressly voting by absentee
ballot in accordance with procedures to be established by
ordinance of the Council, to amend Section 6-30 thereof by
designating the Town Manager as Secretary to the Board, and by
expressly authorizing the Board of Supervisors of Elections to
adopt rules and regulations relating to registration and the
conduct of elections, subject to approval by the Council, to
amend Section 6-31 relating to notice of registration days and to
amend Section 6-32 thereof to provide for continuous
registration, to authorize registration by mail and to repeal
language inconsistent therewith.

[Sections 6-27, 6-30, 6-31, and 6-32 of the Code of Public
Laws of Carroll County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date September 7, 1982]

RESOLUTION NO. 132

A RESOLUTION BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF HAVRE DE
GRACE, MARYLAND, ADOPTED PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY CONTAINED IN
ARTICLE XI-E OF THE CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND AND THE PROVISIONS
OF ARTICLE 23A OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1957 EDITION,
1981 REPLACEMENT VOLUME, 1983 SUPPLEMENT) TITLED
"CORPORATIONS--MUNICIPAL"; TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
HAVRE DE GRACE, MARYLAND, BY AMENDING SECTION 62 OF THE CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF HAVRE DE GRACE AS CONTAINED IN THE CHARTER AND
CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF HAVRE DE
GRACE, JUNE, 1982, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THAT THE DIRECTOR
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS SHALL HOLD OFFICE UNTIL REMOVAL
FROM OFFICE UPON CHARGES BROUGHT BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
AFTER A TWO-THIRDS (2/3) VOTE, RESIGNATION OR DEATH.
