RESOLUTION NO.. 2-83

A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT

A RESOLUTION to amend the Charter of the City of Fruitland
by adding to Section 113-Q (published as Section FC5-18 in the
Fruitland Charter Section of the Wicomico County Code) a new
Subsection 7A (to be published as aforesaid as Subsection G-l)
for the purpose of authorizing the City Council to issue revenue
bonds designed to promote the economic development of the City to
take advantage of the powers and authorities granted to the
municipalities of Maryland by the Maryland Economic Development
Bond Act, codified as Article 41, Sections 266(A) through 266(1),
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and permitting the City to
follow procedures therein contained, notwithstanding any other
provisions of the Charter, it being the condition of issuance of
any such bonds that the full faith and credit of the City shall
not be pledged for the repayment of such bonds either wholly or
in part.

GAITHERSBURG OF APPROXIMATELY 57.7 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED ADJACENT
TO THE PRESENT CORPORATE LIMITS, KNOWN AS SUMMIT HALL TURF FARM
LOCATED ON MARYLAND ROUTE #355 ADJACENT TO THE GAITHERSBURG HIGH
SCHOOL SITE
