RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS
TO AMEND THE CITY CHARTER BY REPEALING
AND RE-ENACTING CERTAIN SECTIONS THEREOF
A RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 40 of the Charter of the City of Annapolis;
for the purpose of providing that the Mayor and Aldermen may take
certain actions in considering appeals from decisions of the Port
Wardens; providing that appeals to the Mayor and Aldermen from
decisions of the Port Warden shall be on the record made before
the Port Wardens; and all matters generally related thereto.
[Section 40 of the Charter of the City of Annapolis, Anne
Arundel County, as found in the compilation of Municipal Charters
of Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

OF THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS
TO REPEAL THE CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS
AND TO ADOPT A NEW CHARTER IN LIEU THEREOF
A RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, to repeal the Charter of the City of
Annapolis consisting of Sections 1 through 97 thereof, inclusive,
and to adopt a new Charter for the municipal corporation known as
the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis to stand in the
place of the Charter so repealed; for the purpose of
reestablishing a form of government for the municipal corporation
known as the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis;
providing for the continuation of existing boundaries of the
municipal corporation, subject to future alterations; providing
for the election and appointment of officials of the municipal
corporation; specifying the powers of the municipal corporation;
providing for operating departments of the municipal corporation
and the duties and responsibilities of each; providing for the
administration of personnel and retirement matters for the
