Ch. 84

1. A. COMPLETE THE TEACHER EDUCATION
PROGRAM; AND

2. B. TEACH IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL IN THE
STATE FOR A PERIOD OF 1 YEAR FOR EACH YEAR IN WHICH THE
ADDITIONAL AMOUNT WAS AWARDED.

(2) IN CONSULTATION WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF
EDUCATION, THE STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD SHALL ADOPT RULES AND
REGULATIONS TO WAIVE, FOR GOOD CAUSE, THE REPAYMENT OF ANY
PORTION OF THE ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED UNDER THIS
SUBSECTION THAT IS NOT FORGIVEN IF THE RECIPIENT FAILS TO FULFILL
THE OBLIGATIONS AGREED TO UNDER SUBPARAGRAPH (II) OF THIS
SUBSECTION.

18-1104.

An award granted under this subtitle [is for $800 per year and]
may be used for:

(1)  Tuition and mandatory fees;

(2)  Room and board; and

(3)  Books and supplies.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

(House Bill 669)

AN ACT concerning

Public Education - State Aid

FOR the purpose of altering the basis for computing the basic
current expense funding level; providing a limit to
increases in certain education aid after a certain year;
requiring under certain circumstances the affirmation of the
General Assembly by Joint Resolution of certain amounts used
in computing the basic current expense funding level and
providing for substitute amounts should such legislation not
be enacted; providing a Preamble; providing limits on the
use of certain aid; providing for certain reports; requiring
county governing bodies to maintain a specified level of
funding support for school budgets; terminating existing
programs of density aid and compensatory aid and
