VETOES

This bill allows certain restaurants in Garrett County to
serve alcoholic beverages on Sundays between the hours of 1:00
p.m. and 12:00 p.m., subject to certain restrictions; and alters
the alcoholic beverages fee for restaurants serving alcoholic
beverages on Sunday. This bill requires approval of its
provisions by the qualified voters of Garrett County in a
referendum at the general election held in November of 1984
before its provisions become effective.

Senate Bill 635, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 8, 1984, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1237.

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - Alcoholic Beverages Licenses

FOR the purpose of allowing certain restaurants to serve
alcoholic beverages on Sundays between certain hours in
Garrett County subject to certain restrictions; altering the
alcoholic beverages fee for restaurants serving alcoholic
beverages on Sunday; providing that this Act is subject to
the approval of the voters of Garrett County; and generally
relating to serving alcoholic beverages on Sunday in Garrett
County.
