AN ACT concerning

District Court - Jurisdiction - Attachment Before Judgment

FOR the purpose of altering the jurisdictional limit on
attachment before judgment to make it comparable to other
jurisdictional limits for the District Court; correcting an
incorrect reference; and generally relating to attachment
before judgment.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

3-302.

A court of law including the District Court, within the
limits of its jurisdiction, may issue an attachment at the
commencement of the action or while it is pending against any
property or credits, whether matured or unmatured, belonging to
the debtor upon the application of the plaintiff in the action.

4-401.

Except as provided in § 4-402 of this subtitle, and subject
to the venue provisions of Title 6 of this article, the District
Court has exclusive original civil jurisdiction in:
