SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 126, 126A, 126B, 126C, 126D, 128, 129,
130, and 131 of Article 9 - Charles County of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland be repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article 9 - Charles County

123.

(a)  The County Commissioners of Charles County are hereby
authorized and directed to levy for the fiscal year beginning
[July 1, 1965] JULY 1, 1984, and annually thereafter, a fire AND
RESCUE tax at the rate of [ten cents (10¢)] 15 CENTS per one
hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed value. Such tax shall be
levied on the assessed value of all taxable real and personal
property in Charles County.

(b)  The said fire AND RESCUE tax shall be levied and
collected in the same manner as other State and County taxes are
now levied and collected.

(c)  The proceeds collected from the County fire AND RESCUE
tax shall thereafter be paid by the County Commissioners on
