ANNUALLY. APPLICATIONS SHALL BE FILED AT LEAST 45 DAYS PRIOR TO
THE EXAMINATION DATE. EACH APPLICANT SHALL TAKE AND PASS AN
OBJECTIVE WRITTEN EXAMINATION TO DETERMINE FITNESS FOR A LICENSE.
THE PASSING GRADE SHALL BE 70 PERCENT AND THE NOTICE FOR THE
EXAMINATION SHALL SPECIFY THE PASSING GRADE. THE EXAMINATION
PROMULGATED BY THE BOARD SHALL REQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF ALL
APPLICABLE CODES OR OTHER RULES, LAWS, OR PRINCIPLES OF
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS, FROM A LIST OF QUESTIONS SUBMITTED BY
THE UNIFORM ELECTRICAL LICENSING EXAMINATION COMMITTEE. ANY
LOCAL ELECTRICAL LICENSING BOARD WHICH HAS QUALIFICATIONS
EQUIVALENT TO THOSE OF THE STATE AND WHICH ADMINISTERS MASTER
ELECTRICIANS' EXAMINATIONS THAT ARE ALSO EQUIVALENT TO THOSE OF
THE STATE SHALL BE CERTIFIED. ANY ELIGIBLE APPLICANT WHO HAS
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED A CERTIFIED EXAMINATION FOR A MASTER
ELECTRICAL LICENSE IN A LOCAL JURISDICTION SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM
THE STATE EXAMINATION, AND ANY ELIGIBLE APPLICANT WHO HAS
SUCCESSFULLY PASSED A STATE EXAMINATION FOR A MASTER ELECTRICAL
LICENSE SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM ANY LOCAL JURISDICTION'S
EXAMINATION.
(D) EACH APPLICATION FOR EXAMINATION FOR A LICENSE SHALL BE
IN WRITING ON A FORM PROVIDED BY THE BOARD. FOLLOWING RECEIPT OF
A FEE FOR EACH EXAMINATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $35 AND AN
APPLICATION FOR EXAMINATION, THE BOARD MAY INVESTIGATE THE
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT, INCLUDING THE EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED BY SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION. THE BOARD
SHALL NOTIFY THE APPLICANT OF ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATION AT
LEAST 15 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EXAMINATION. EXAMINATION FEES SHALL
BE NONREFUNDABLE. ANY APPLICANT WHO FAILS TO APPEAR FOR A
SCHEDULED EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED TO FILE A NEW APPLICATION AND
PAY A NEW FEE. THIS REQUIREMENT MAY BE WAIVED BY THE BOARD FOR
GOOD CAUSE. THE BOARD, WITHIN 45 DAYS AFTER EXAMINATION, SHALL
INFORM THE APPLICANT IN WRITING WHETHER OR NOT THE APPLICANT HAS
PASSED THE EXAMINATION. IF THE APPLICANT HAS PASSED, THE BOARD
SHALL ISSUE A LICENSE, SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE BY THE APPLICANT
WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 535 OF THIS SUBTITLE. THE
LICENSE SHALL BE ISSUED ONLY IN THE PERSONAL NAME OF THE LICENSEE
OR TO A LICENSEE AS A QUALIFIED AGENT ASSIGNED TO A SINGLE
PERSON, FIRM, OR CORPORATION BY WHICH THE LICENSEE IS PRINCIPALLY
EMPLOYED.
(E) AN APPLICANT MAY REVIEW HIS EXAMINATION PAPER AND
GRADES UPON WRITTEN REQUEST AT A TIME AND PLACE DESIGNATED BY THE
BOARD.
535.
(A) WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THE ISSUANCE OF A STATEWIDE LICENSE,
THE APPLICANT SHALL HOLD A LICENSE IN THE JURISDICTION OF THIS
STATE IN WHICH THE APPLICANT RESIDES OR THE JURISDICTION OF THIS
STATE IN WHICH THE APPLICANT'S PRINCIPAL BUSINESS OFFICE IS
LOCATED.
(B) UPON RECEIPT OF AN APPLICATION AND PAYMENT OF A FEE,
THE BOARD SHALL ISSUE AN INITIAL LICENSE, SUBJECT TO RENEWAL
