SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

(House Bill 615)

AN ACT concerning

Workmen's Compensation - Self-Insured Employers

FOR the purpose of altering the amount the Workmen's Compensation
Commission may annually assess self-insured employers for
certain actuarial studies and audits to determine financial
solvency; and generally relating to workmen's compensation
and self-insured employers.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

Section 16(3)(a)(ii)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1979 Replacement Volume and 1983 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

16.

The employer shall secure compensation to his employees in
one of the following ways:

(3) (a) (ii) The Commission may assess each
self-insurer or member of a group of self-insured counties or
municipalities an annual sum of not more than [$250] $500 which
shall be used for actuarial studies and audits to determine the
financial solvency.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
