AN ACT concerning

Human Resources -
Battered Spouse and Homeless Women Shelter Programs

FOR the purpose of deleting certain provisions that provide for
the administration of the battered spouse and homeless women
shelter programs by the Social Services Administration and
instead substituting the Department of Human Resources as
the administrative entity; and providing certain effective
dates for these Acts.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 88A - Social Services Administration

103.

(b) The following requirements govern the shelter
established under subsection (a) of this section and any other
shelter that is established under the program:

(1) The shelter shall provide battered spouses and
their children with a temporary residence and necessary
counseling.
