1.   30 semester credit hours OR THE
EQUIVALENT IN QUARTER UNITS in the natural sciences that meet the
education standards set by the Board; [and]

2.   A COURSE IN MATHEMATICS AND AT LEAST 1
LABORATORY COURSE IN 3 OF THE FOLLOWING FIELDS: CHEMISTRY,
PHYSICS, MICROBIOLOGY, AND BIOLOGY; AND

3.   24 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE, ACCEPTABLE TO
THE BOARD, IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH; OR

(IV) A MASTER'S DEGREE IN PUBLIC HEALTH OR
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE THAT INCLUDES:

1.   30 SEMESTER UNITS OR 45 QUARTER UNITS
OF BASIC SCIENCES THAT MEET THE EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS SET BY THE
BOARD;

2.  A COURSE IN MATHEMATICS, AND AT LEAST
1 LABORATORY COURSE IN 3 OF THE FOLLOWING FIELDS: BIOLOGY,
CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, AND MICROBIOLOGY; AND

3.   3 MONTHS OF INTERNSHIP APPROVED BY THE
BOARD IF NOT PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED; OR

[(ii) Has at least 4 years of experience in
environmental sanitation that meets the standards set by the
Board, and in computing this experience, the Board may not give
more than 2 years credit for satisfactory graduate study in
environmental science;

(2) The applicant:

(i) Graduates from an accredited college or
university with a baccalaureate degree in a field other than
environmental science or the natural sciences; and

(ii) Has at least 8 years experience in
environmental sanitation that meets the standards set by the
Board; or]

[(3)] (2) The applicant has at least [12] 10 years of
experience in THE FIELD OF environmental [sanitation] HEALTH that
meets the standards set by the Board.

(c) Except as otherwise provided in this title, the
applicant shall pass an examination given by the Board under this
subtitle.

[17-303.] 5.5-303.

(a) To qualify for certification as a [sanitarian in
training] ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER, an applicant shall
be an individual who meets the requirements of this section.
